Sassy in the City Relay: Carrie Sassy

Hola,

I am at the final stretch of the Sassy in the City Relay ! Finally but not least Carrie and she is truly Sassy. I had a mental block while doing this card because as a person who lived in the NYC most of my life I wanted to do this card justice. However, I was completely over thinking the process. I let it go and just enjoyed the craft. I found a cool NYC skyline digi, in all places Microsoft Office stock clipart. I like the graffiti feel of the skyline with the Empire State Building as its focal point. I went with the classic black dress because nothing represents NYC fashion than wearing black! I hope you like. Thank you to all DT and all the people involved in this great celebration for making this so much fun!! Happy 700

Sassy in the City Relay: Miranda Sassy

Hola,

Well I am at the 3rd leg of the relay and today it is Miranda! The artists at Sassy Studio Designs have been doing a fabulous job in creating these characters into great digis. The challenge for this relay was to "keep it simple". I love to make my card simple so I was excited for this challenge. My pattern paper is from Die Cut with a View: Downtown Loft paper collection. I found it for a great deal at TJ Max. I hope you like!

Crochet Slipper Mania

Hola,

I have been busy making crochet slippers lately. I had so much fun making them; that in a week I made two! I enjoyed them bc they are quick and required very little yarn ( Stash Buster!) The first set of slippers I made are from a pattern called  Pea Pod Slider Slippers by Robyn Chachula. The pattern is from Baby Blueprint Crochet book. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn although the pattern calls for a DK weight yarn. I wanted to make a bigger size of the slipper so I upped the yarn weight which gave me a larger gauge to create a 6 1/2 in long slippers. Check it out:

The second slipper that I made was from a cute pattern from the Two Girls Patterns Etsy shop. You can also find this pattern at Ravelry called the Valerie Toddler House slipper pattern. I used the Lily Sugar' N Cream cotton yarn that I had in my stash. The colors for very summery and my daughter loves pink. I added some cute butterfly buttons. I hope you like. There is an adult version to this pattern which I will be making very soon so check back soon!

Farm Fresh Friday Challenge : Classic Pattern

Hola,

I decided to use the soccer Ian digi... for a boys birthday card. I used a mix of copic and Prisma coloring pencil for the coloring and an EK Success birthday candle punch. Plus my go to Spellbinder dies and the sentiment is from The Clipart Fairy. Thank you for the opportunity to enter this challenge and creating these great images.

Geisha Shawl

Hola,

I can't believe it has been a month since I posted a blog entry...I hope to post more entries in the next weeks. I wanted to share this Shawl that I made for friend's Mom. I was so very happy with the finish project I wanted to share! The patterns is from a must have book called:
Wrapped in Crochet: Scarves, Wraps & Shawls
by Kristin Omdahl

The pattern is called Geisha, a simple, elegant and quick pattern. I used Caron Simply Soft yarn. I changed the pattern a bit I just made 2 fan borders instead of 3; I felt adding an additional border would weigh the shawl. I hope you like and also this is the raverly link to the pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/geisha.

Disney Princess Craft Fun

Hola, This weekend I worked on birthday presents for a set of twins girls who love the Disney Princesses. I decided to put my Brother Disney Embroidery Machine to use! I made towels with their names & a princess image. In addition, I made birthday card using my Disney Princess Cricut Cart. I used the silhouette cut of the princess, which made it easy because it required no extra layers to cut. Then I used the negative cut of a Spellbinder Scallop Oval, as a frame. I just wanted to share my crafting project for the weekend!
